Devices

Prerequisites
  • Access Level: Admin, Super-admin.
  • Permission Requirements:
  • . Basic Project Interaction
    • Classify resources with projects they are active in
  • . Project Management
    • Declassify resources tagged with projects they manage
  • . VM Administration
    • View host machines and hardware information in any Libvirt realm
    • Create new hardware profiles (metadata)
    • Edit any hardware profile
    • Delete any hardware profile

Admins need to add devices that are defined in the hardware profiles so they are properly registered for quota purposes.

Access the Devices from Management​

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Devices in the left panel.

View Basic Information About a Device in Management​

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Devices in the left panel.
  4. Select the device to view basic information.
  5. Click the View button in the top right panel.
  6. In the left panel, view the device's basic information.

Create a New Device​

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Devices in the left panel.
  4. Click the Create new device button in the top panel.
  5. In the pop-up, enter the device ID, name, optional description, and tag.
  6. Click Create.

Edit a Device in Management​

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Devices in the left panel.
  4. Select the device you want to edit.
  5. Click the Edit button in the top right panel.
  6. In the pop-up, edit the device ID, name, optional description, and tag.
  7. Click Update.

Add a tag in a Device in Management​

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Devices in the left panel.
  4. Select the device whoose tag you want to add.
  5. Click the Edit button in the top right panel.
  6. In the pop-up, under the Tags sub-section, enter the tag name.
  7. Click the Add button next to the tag name.
  8. Click Update.

Remove a tag from a Device in Management​

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Devices in the left panel.
  4. Select the device whoose tag you want to remove.
  5. Click the Edit button in the top right panel.
  6. In the pop-up, go to Tags sub-section.
  7. Click the Delete button next to the tag you want to remove.
  8. Click Update.

Delete Device(s) from Management​

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Devices in the left panel.
  4. Select the device(s) you want to delete.
  5. Click the Delete button in the top right panel.
  6. In the pop-up, click Delete.
